George Saville of Chelsea to join Middlesbrough on loan until the end of the season. The box to box midfielder was on loan at Brentford last season but it appears Boro have won the race for his signature.

BoroLad93

29 Jul 2014 21:23:09
So 3 loan signings from Chelsea.
Omerou, Bamford and Saville.
Husband from Donny to give Friend some competition and still a right back and forward to come in.
I'm delighted about Saville, Wigan were desperate to have him as Rosler had him at Brentford last season before taking over at Wigan and thinks he is Chelsea's best youth prospect, so he can't be too bad.
If we do actually pull all of this off we will be a strong force next season.
Sources in the club will not give up on the Vossen deal but Main and Kamara have to go first. Huddersfield and Wolves are interested in Kamara but are looking for a cheap deal, the money from the Main transfer is very minimal apparently.
A right back is apparently just about done but Boro are keeping it well under wraps until the deal is done.
Anyone have any clue on who the right back will be?

Gary Mackay Stevens is back on Huddersfield Towns radar as Dundee Utd are believed to be considering a bid of around 600k from Rotherham and this is likely to be very close to the fee they are looking for. Town had major interest at around the figure previously and are likely to jump in to the race if the offer or a little bit more is accepted for him. This would mean a swift exit would be welcomed for Sean Scannell - who is looking for a move back down south.

Sorry but danny graham got a goal every other game, set up other players, provided an actual focus point for our attacks. Even the players have said they want him back. How extactly is that terrible? More importantly he's not a big risk. £3m less than an overated belgean who'll jump ship, ie rav, merson, first chance he gets. We need championship players. We're a championship club with no money. The whole Vossen saga is getting pulled about in all different directions. You'll only get the truth out of it when there is a confirmation that he has signed for a club (Whoever that may be), so there is no point speculating.

The deal to get James Husband from Doncaster is set to be sealed tonight (According to Paul Dikov). Curtis Main to Doncaster is completely different and has no effect on the James Husband deal.

Patrick Bamford is being linked with Boro but ill believe it when I see it as he was supposed to come to Boro last season and he ended up at Derby.

Northern paper says that deals possibly could be wrapped up for a Right Back, Creative Midfielder and 1 more Striker before the end of this week. Presumably one of these could be bamford.

You talk about being broke yet Gibson is pretty much willing to give Aitor a fair bit of pocket money to spend.

There is definitely a large slice of finance left for another top striker and RB. Plus 3-4 loanees from our pals down South. Obviously Omerou and Husband will be joining this week and Gibson/Bausor are hopeful of a RB and striker before Saturday.

JRM

(0)

The one player from Chelsea we should be looking to sign is Lewis Baker, he's an outstanding young attacking midfielder!

Good news that kamara is on way out. He ran around a lot but showed a first touch similar to Brian Deane and he's about a potent in the box as Elton John.

With Main and Kamara being allowed to leave looks like AK will bring in Bamford plus one other striker. Just a shame it's looking like it won't be Vossen.

Smogmonster

We will have made a big mistake if we don't get another good striker, say if vossen doesn't come here which he probably won't then spend that money on someone else man there's not only 1 striker there's loads for same price who are good, we'll have made a mistake selling juke cause he would have teamed up well with like if we play 4-2-4 for once if we end up with graham that's not good enough he's simply has no quality why do you think hull and Sunderland aren't bothered when he was here he missed sitters!

Danny graham would be a good signing I've always said it he done well on loan and was striking up a good relationship with ledesma and tomlin towards end if last season even ledesma and tomlin pleaded for us to sign him and at the price we could add some real quality elsewhere in the squad I'd like vossen but I'd be equally happy if we ended up with Danny graham UTB

Kike, kamara, Bamford and graham as our strikers? Tbh does that sound like a bad striker force?, we would be daft not to sign graham for £1million when we put a bid in for £5million when he left Swansea, yeah he might of picked Sunderland over us but come on everyone knows he is top quality, and if he missed sitter we'll then this season he will work even harder because of kike, tbh I can't fault graham he put 110% in every game I watched, and I'm a season ticket holder, also Bamford is a good little striker, good extra back up for kike, and speaking of kike, he is our best striker we've had since the viduka and yakubu days, glad I renewed my season ticket this year! Genk striker Jelle Vossen has not been included in their squad to face KV Mechelen and, although the official reason is that he has a slight injury, reports in Belgium suggest that it is almost certainly because he is on the verge of a transfer. Just to clarify the supposed Feyenoord interest, since December 2011 Feyenoord have been under tight financial controls and have only paid for two players. One for £250k and the other for £800k. It's just the latest news he is set to sign for Feyenoord because they'll offer big money that we simply won't offer! Besides signing Bamford will ease the pressure on a new striker and paying £500,000 for Husband suggests we aren't saving for a big deal!

tommy40996

(0)

By their own admission Feyenoord have a big list of strikers they are considering. The manager has said they would welcome John Guidetti back who hit 20 goals for them in 23 whilst on loan from Man City and is rumoured to be available for less than £1M as he is not going to make it in the Premiership. If Bamford comes in, Main and Williams might as well go now because they will not get in front of him. Replacing Juke and Emnes with Kike still leaves a place for a top notch striker and I am still hoping it is Vossen. Probably far to unrealistic, but what a strike force those three could make. Time will tell.

I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining just thought we could have but that half mill towards a top right back or striker and use someone like Halliday if heaven forbid friend gets insured. I know it's the past but I'm still so mad we messed up on McCormack last year we could of had him if We went so stubborn and his goals would of fired us up for sure he's proven and prolific in the championship where as kike has only done it in a very poor division in Spain. Praying he is the real deal though good striker is well overdue

Aifi

The costa rican part is true but as far as the other two go it is definitely a no go. Adebayor is on crazy money which Albion will not cough up which is fair enough and he still has the chance to compete in the Tottenham team and finish within the top ten. As far as Ayew goes, I can't see them bringing him in either due to his playing style being to similar to Berahino. Albion need to bring in a experienced proven Prem striker, a bit like Adebayor but a more affordable Adebayor.

Smallwood is good enough for the championship, I rate him over whitehead tbh, he isn't as good as leadbitter or butterfield but he is still a tallent, also luke williams and curtis main aren't good enough in their positions, they are not strikers, they can't score in this leauge like a striker should, but they are fast, strong and know how to play a pass, they would be good in tomlins role or williams left wing and main right wing, but let's get off them 3, I think husband is a great singing, aswell as omerou mejias and kike they are all brilliant additions to the squad, if we haft to wait a long time for players of that calliber, then I will deffinatly be patient, UTB

Fulham have bid 6.3m for Leeds RB Byram, although interest was shown from Swansea, Liverpool ect. It's Fulham who lead the chase for the defender and have made their intentions clear to Leeds.

The whites are still in talks with the Garanite Xhaka and Nzonzi.

David Stockdale may still stay but Maarten Stekelenberg will leave with Boruc joining as his replacement.

Ashkan Dejagah & Mitroglou are likely to stay as Ruiz is close to joining Besiktas for 7m.

BillyBob86

{Ed013's Note - If Sam Byram leaves Leeds it will be to Liverpool or another Premier League Club}

Billy billy billy! yes I question your knowledge, I don't see xhaka dropping to championship level that's a big not happening! nzonzi I have not got a clue on that 1, that has caught me out. dejagah and mitroglu I would say that 1 of thhem would leave possibly both but I see them going a lot closer to deadline day if not deadline day. leeds will only sell you byram if 2 things happen, and they would both have to happen, a) cellino will only sell for stupid money (your club has proved this already with mccormack. 10.6million) so I reckon it would have to be a bid of over 10 million again, and b) byram would have to say he wants to leave as cellino wants to keep the talent the club has (again already proven). billy did you take that picture of my post by the way? when I was proven right that mccormack would only go for silly money, its been a good game listening to your half cooked rumours but I think your time is up and this latest post, people beginning to realise you have very little knowledge but try to piece things together like 2+2 and get an answer of beetroot.

tommoleeds78

There were reports in Germany (BILD to be specific) that Felix Magath was interested in reuniting the Xhaka's brothers, Taulant from Basel and Granit from Mochengladbach. However, that was a while ago and rumours haven't carried.

Fulham seem to be done in the full back department in the window, especially at right back, as we have three players that can play there now.

Steven N'Zonzi isn't going to join Fulham and Ashkan Dejagah is going to Al Arabi in a £5m deal.

FulhamLad

(0)
(0)

FulhamLad that seems a much more sensible post, although I would of thought dejagah would have comanded a higher fee!

tommoleeds78

(0)
(0)

Good call Billybob similar rumours abound elsewhere. Silly money for McCormack - not really as a proven goalscorer in this Division - well worth the money if he gets Fulham back in the prem. Fulham a big club? Obviously a sad time for Leeds when we take their best player - how the mighty have fallen. Fulham shaping a very strong championship squad, especially if Mitroglou and Dejagah stay. Ruiz will leave for circa £7m. Definitely expect Fulham to get another few decent signings within the next few weeks.

putney

(0)
(0)

Putney over 10 million for a forward who has never been proven at the highest level is silly money, if he gets you up it may be worth it, but that's if, and over 10 million is a big risk. I hope for mccormack's sake not fulhams that he has a good year, but I fear he may become a small fish in a big pond.

Middlesbrough will turn their attentions on securing the services of Castro Otto and Soriano after growing frustrated through Huddersfield Town playing hardball and the club will return for his signature later in the window, with Nathan Ake lined up as another option.

What happened to half of the linked list not even mentioned now like Andrew Taylor and Tuncay eg be good to have Tuncay back also that young winger from league 2 Moses Odubajo, Luciano Becchio would be great also we should get him!

Is this the correct current situation regarding transfers to Middlesbrough?

CF:
1st Jonatan Soriano
2nd Jelle Vossen
3rd Alberto Bueno
(Sign two CF's instead of Clayton.

RB: 1st Manquillo (Liverpool or Arsenal)
2nd Jonathan Castro Otto
3rd Juanfran.

Castro Otto and Soriano and see very options don't you think?

Do we need another midfielder?

Temporary loan cover for Carayol/Ledesa?

See all the players get snapped up, our business is poor I think cause the people who are linked the good ones just get away and nothing else is said

Hardball, what setting a price and sticking to it while you try and unsettle the player?

Tbh if there was geniune interest from a bigger club clayton may have left but why move to boro would make no sense n I think he clearly feels the same. I know before u all get up set that 15 years ago you got to a cup final so congrats your now just like millwall wigan and bradford. UTT

And still held in a bigger regard than duddersfield. As for clayton I hope he stays. don't want him. None of us do.

And I wouldn't mind being as big as wigan right now. they've won a cup and been in europe and have an extremely good shot at going up. Not much of an insult. Unlike the mighty duddersfield and they're relegation battle. Again! Lol
